David Hart Season-Less Collection Look 1

This season, David Hart presented a film that centered on a series of digital conversations with artist Peter Halley. Kicking off the short film, the menswear designer recalls how this unprecedented time has provided him with the opportunity to reflect on what it means to be a fashion designer and think of new ways to present his work.

Cue Halley, whose work is graphic with blocks of squares and rectangles in bold colors, for example. On several Zoom calls, the two exchanged creative impulses, culminating in Hart’s “Season-less” collection – presented in a series of illustrations. These looks merged Halley’s language with Hart’s design ethos -– ie. color-blocking for strong tailoring, separates and outerwear – and created a clear axis between the designer and the artist.

The film ended with positive message from Halley that we all need to listen to: “Things never stay the same and I think there is reason to look forward to the future.” Yes, please!
