Awards Scoop! Tony, Emmy, Grammy winner and Academy Award nominated Cynthia Erivo will serve as the host of the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards presented by Amazon Fashion.

Erivo, a British actress, producer, singer, and songwriter, is known for her powerful theater roles, including Celie in the Broadway revival of “The Color Purple,” which earned her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2016. She also starred in the movie “Harriet” (2019), portraying Harriet Tubman, for which she received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Original Song for “Stand Up.”

Erivo stars as Elphaba in Universal’s upcoming movie musical “Wicked” alongside Ariana Grande.

“As a born and bred Londoner, I can safely say that the UK has its own sense of style, but when I moved to New York almost 10 years ago, I was welcomed into the open arms of the New York fashion industry,” Erivo said. “I was blown away by its ingenuity and its flair, and I felt right at home. Style in America has clearly influenced me in the years that would follow my arrival and style in New York has held me in the warmest of embraces. When I was asked to serve as the host of the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards presented by Amazon Fashion, I naturally did not hesitate to say yes. I cannot wait to celebrate the nominees and honorees in a room full of people I am inspired by.”

The evening will also feature several celebrity presenters.

Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton will introduce the American Accessory Designer of the Year.

Molly Ringwald will introduce the Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute, to be accepted by Ruben Toledo.

The Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert will be given to Hamish Bowles by Marc Jacobs.

Donna Karan and Todd Oldham will present the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award to Stephen Burrows.

Molly Gordon and Brandon Maxwell will do the honors for the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year category.

Anna Wintour will present the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard to Annie Leibovitz.

Creative entrepreneur and media personality Jenna Lyons will serve as the Official CFDA Red Carpet Host.

Amazon Fashion is the Presenting Partner for the CFDA Fashion Awards.
