Among the scholarships available is the prestigious CFDA Design Scholar Award, the highest honor within the CFDA Scholarship Fund. This award recognizes one exceptional BFA fashion design student demonstrating innovation in areas such as Sustainable Design, New Technologies, and Boundary-Pushing Concepts. The winner of the CFDA Design Scholar Award receives a $75,000 scholarship.
The CFDA Design Scholar Award for Innovative Approaches to DEI will be presented to one BFA fashion design student whose work advances diversity, equity, and inclusion in fashion through innovative concepts and design solutions. Areas of focus may include Adaptive Fashion, Designing for People With Disabilities, Fashion Activism, Inclusivity and Social Justice. The winner of the CFDA Design Scholar Award for Innovative Approaches to DEI receives a $50,000 scholarship.
The Geoffrey Beene Award, introduced in 2007, honors one outstanding MFA fashion design student whose work challenges traditional codes of dressing through 360 Shape + Form and Size Inclusivity. The winner of the Geoffrey Beene Award receives a $50,000 scholarship.
The CFDA x Crystal Bridges Heartland Scholar Awards celebrate regional talent, recognizing five BFA or MFA fashion design students born in or who have called the Heartland home. Each of the winners receive a $25,000 scholarship.
Additionally, the CFDA Scholarship Fund will also support one BFA fashion design student directly impacted by the California Wildfires with a $25,000 scholarship.
Finalists for the CFDA Scholarship Fund are selected over the summer and will have the exclusive opportunity to present their work to distinguished CFDA members and prominent industry leaders.
The 2025 CFDA Scholars will be announced in September and will gain access to a range of engagement opportunities, including attending the prestigious CFDA Fashion Awards.
