A Look at Christian Roth’s new ‘80s Inspired Campaign

Some decades are too good to forget. The counter-cultural ethos of New York in the 1980s still lingers in Christian Roth’s heart, whose latest eyewear collection pays homage to this time period.

“Early 80s New York matters today. We still feel the creative energy, strivings and tensions of those years. For us it was the gateway to live our dreams and to express our identities,” Roth recalled.

Roth teamed up with emerging photographer, designer, and creative director Alexander DiGenova from his home in Los Angeles. With the help of his fellow creative muses, models, and friends, the 23-year-old was able to capture and embody the spirit of the eyewear line while still in isolation.

“Alexander reminds us of a ‘young, aspiring us.’ His defined aesthetics, radical candor and imagination for emotional material are already set at the dawn of his adulthood,” said Roth.

The collection includes three reimagined styles – the ARMER, an oversized aviator modeled by DiGenova’s brother, the ROUND-WAV, a spacey oval frame worn by a young, Vietnam-born designer Kai, and the FIRI, an angular cat-eye shape brought to life by model Juliana.
