Overview: Ethical Metalsmiths is a US based 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to Inspiring Responsible Practices in the Jewelry Industry, through direct, personal networking, community and collaboration, an incredible Emerging Responsible Jeweler Mentorship program, directory of helpful resources, and a coalition of activists working on specific initiatives. All aspects of the organization encourage direct involvement and empowerment, with supportive leadership opportunities in all areas.

Ethical Metalsmiths Opportunities:
-Responsible professional Jeweler Member profiles on our website, with self assessment transparency tools
-Emerging Responsible Jeweler Membership, a mentored 1-3 year program with members portal of specialized content
-Directory of resources for many aspects of responsible jewelry practice
-Radical Jewelry Makeover project is an ongoing international ‘community mining’ recycling project in which volunteer jewelers transform recycled donated jewelry into new designs that are exhibited and sold to benefit Ethical Metalsmiths’ mission
-The Education committee, runs an annual online international student exhibition So Fresh + So Clean, with an Emerging Artist Award, the CRITICALSMITHS Research Series: a research based initiative to inspire students to think critically about how their studio work habits connect to environmental and personal safety issues, and Academics in Pandemic: comprehensive online exhibition and curricula during Covid-19
-The Action Coalition for direct and empowered activism
-A rich online EM Community Forum with profiles, topics and phone app
-The Source- a blog of original, diverse and in-depth content covering all ethical issues in the industry
-Consolidated Resources page to support broad ethics related issues
-Consumer facing overview of the process of jewelry
-EM Sponsored ethical funding opportunities such as Better Without Mercury and IDEA: DEI training for the industry
