Western Carolina Sewing Company

Sew Co. is a living-wage relational sewing factory in Asheville, NC. We facilitate textile-based projects at all stages – from prototyping and patternmaking to small-batch and large scale production. We have been in business for 13 years, and are a diverse team with backgrounds in fashion design, pattern making, costuming, and fine art.

Our company culture is one of transparency and empowered employee voice. We play the Great Game of Business which is radical financial literacy and transparency with each employee, every week. We are a zero waste facility in that we recycle all our textile waste with a local company that is processing it into a new yarn to use for knitting and weaving new textiles – so a super local, circular economy here in WNC! We have helped build industrial sewer training programs with in our local community colleges and have established the first textile pattern-making apprenticeship in NC.
