The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) is a not-for-profit trade association whose membership consists of more than 500 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers.
The CFDA’s Strategic Partnerships Group (SPG) is a community of high profile businesses, both in the fashion industry and outside, which creates custom programming that meets their needs while providing tangible value to CFDA members.
The CFDA membership consists of more than 500 leading fashion womenswear, menswear, jewelry, and accessory designers. Membership is by invitation only, and is open to Americans designing in the United States or abroad or international designers whose businesses are based in the United States.
The CFDA is devoted to supporting the overall growth of American fashion. The following initiatives help execute this mission.

When in Paris, Do as the Americans!
The CFDA Foundation is a separate not-for-profit organization, which was created to raise funds for charity and industry activities. Through innovative partnerships with brands, retailers, and CFDA designers, the Foundation is able to leverage fashion and effectively generate awareness and funds for these charitable causes.
In 2014, the CFDA created a comprehensive directory of production facilities for both sewn goods and jewelry in New York City and added facilities within the Greater Los Angeles area in 2017.
The production directory, generously underwritten by CFDA’s Official Logistics Partner DHL, helps create more clear connections between fashion designers and local manufacturers. Search nearly 200 listings and use a range of customizable sorting capabilities to find exactly the service, product, category, or sample/production minimum you need.
