Material Category
  • Abaca

Developed in collaboration with company Nemusa, PYRATEX® musa fabrics are made with Abaca, a tree that grows naturally in the Phillippines and produces fibers which are compostable and biodegradable.

This wild plant is often collected by local farmers. It is sturdy and self-sufficient, requiring no pesticides or irrigation to grow.

One of Abaca’s most important properties is its high tensile strength: making it durable and resistant.
