ELIE TAHARI PARTNERS WITH CFDA FOR THE 2nd YEAR TO PROMOTE CFDA JEWELRY DESIGNERS IN EAST HAMPTON FLAGSHIP

CFDA JEWELRY DESIGNERS IN EAST HAMPTON FLAGSHIP

Elie Tahari announced today that the company will continue its partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for summer 2010 to promote sales of select CFDA jewelry designers by featuring their product in the Elie Tahari East Hampton flagship boutique. Beginning the first weekend in July through the first weekend in September the program, called Sparkle in the Sun, will run where three different and distinct accessories designers will sell their jewelry in the Elie Tahari East Hampton store in 3 week rotations in an effort to give the designers a chance to reach a wider and new clientele. Proceeds from all jewelry sales will go directly to the designer.

The confirmed participating designers for the 2010 program include CFDA veterans Patricia Von Musulin, Ben Amun, Janis Savitt, Nak Armstrong, and new members Jill Platner and Irene Neurwirth. Also participating are CFDA Incubator designers Gemma Redux, Ruby Kobo and House of Waris. The designers will showcase pieces from their collection on the main floor of the 5,000 square foot East Hampton store, which opened in 2007 and was designed by renowned architect Piero Lissoni. The Elie Tahari store windows will feature signage promoting each individual designer during the time that their work is in the store and the designers will be present for the kick off event on Saturday, July 10th.

“Our East Hampton store is the perfect showcase for these amazing and talented designers, said Elie Tahari, Chairman and CEO of Elie Tahari Ltd. “I wanted to express my continued support for the fashion industry by giving these designers a platform to raise awareness of their brand and be seen in a highly trafficked environment such as the Hamptons.”

Steven Kolb, CFDA’s Executive Director, adds: “I commend Elie Tahari for creating this unique opportunity for his fellow CFDA Members — to increase their sales, but to also work closely with each other in the spirit of community and camaraderie, which is a priority of our President, Diane von Furstenberg.”
