What made you decide to launch a bag collection? Is it something you always planned to do?
The brand has always been about lifestyle and handbags were a natural next step. Like jewelry, a handbag finishes a look and we were excited about the notion of women designing handbags for women–often times they’re designed by men– we wanted our line to be sophisticate, functional and with a strong sense of brand identity.
Tell us about the inspiration behind this collection…
We really focused on the notion of the handbag as the accessory–as opposed to accessorizing bags which is often times the approach for jewelry designers that expand into the category. The collection is for the modern woman who is on the go and needs a day-into-night fix that is classic, cool and fresh.
And lastly…what’s in your bag?
We spend so much time together we practically have the same things. The good news is all of it fits in our Lypton bag:
Mac Ruby Woo, NARS Het Loo (in case i want a more neutral, natural lip), burts bees chapstick (i’m an addict), mini wallet from mexican flea market, Butter london honey pie cream blush, Caudalie lip conditioner, apple ear buds and an iPhone in dannijo Sparo case (Jodie has the Misha case)
