CFDAdventures with Maria Cornejo: Chile Edition

New York designer, Maria Cornejo, presented her Spring / Summer 2014 runway collection on October 8th in Santiago, Chile. The designer was invited as a guest on behalf of the newspaper El Mercurio to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their magazine, Revista YA. The runway show was the main fashion event, taking place in the gardens of the newspaper’s headquarters in the Vitacura neighborhood. Below, the designer recaps her experience for CFDAdventures.

The best part about fashion in another city… seeing how different people express their style

In my suitcase you can always find… My collection is great for traveling as it packs down to nothing and a pair of Nike sneakers for running around!

My favorite part about going back to Chile is… seeing my family and how the country is evolving .

While in Chile, you should always…explore the nature. They have so many extreme climates and gorgeous natural attractions from the Atacama Desert to Patagonia.

If someone I know is visiting Chile, I make sure to tell them to… Eat local home style food like alfajores and majar and go to Los domenicos craft village in Santiago for beautiful textiles and ceramics .
