CFDAdventures in Tokyo with Stacey Bendet

Part of CFDAdventures is capturing our members globetrotting and circumnavigating the world of fashion. In this latest installment, Stacey Bendet provides a peek into her Tokyo sojourn.

I was in Tokyo For: The opening of our first store in Omotesando!

Most memorable moment in Tokyo: The entire trip was memorable!  The dinner and party we hosted to celebrate the opening of the store were incredibly special.  We created an art installation that was a retrospective of 10 years of alice + olivia; dresses hanging like chandeliers, a collage of press that looked like an amazing piece of art, my face made into a wall of faux Warhols and more. We held a dinner with all of the top fashion editors and then a huge party where Mia Moretti and Margot performed.

The best part about fashion in Tokyo: Everyone is so unique! Harajuku is one giant strip of inspiration and I love Omotesando for shopping. You find the most incredibly cool little shops.

Item I am happiest that I packed: The top hat that I wore to our party, with an amazing hot pink gown!  I also loved the city dress I wore from our Resort collection because it felt like I brought a little piece of New York to Tokyo for the store opening.

Tokyo’s best kept secret: One of my favorite pieces was the Tree House Cafe in Omotesando.  That entire area is just filled with secrets.  Cute little art installations, great cafes, and more.  There is also a store called “Chicago” with the most incredible selection of inexpensive vintage kimonos.  I shipped a box full of them back home!

When in Tokyo, you must always: Dress in full looks!
